Be Ye Holy!
A Christian is someone who is Holy! How would you describe a Christian? Would you use words like: loving, humble, or a regular church attender. These words describe what a Christian should do, but they do not define what a Christian is.
A Christian is someone who has trusted Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins. We are justified by faith. We are saved by believing, not by achieving.
It's Jesus plus nothing that saves us.
I'm saved because Jesus lived a sinless life, gave His life for me, nailed to a cross, bled and died, buried, three days later He's Alive! He lives in my heart.

Get Unction!
I am utterly dependent upon the working of the Holy Spirit of God to bless my preaching by saving souls. I can do nothing apart from the unction of the anointing Holy Spirit of God. Unction comes from the Holy Spirit and separates me for service. We all need the fresh anointing of God upon our lives. The unction is the one divine enablement by which I accomplish the peculiar and saving ends of preaching. Without this unction there are no true spiritual results accomplished. Unction in the preacher puts God in the Gospel. Without the anointing of the Holy Spirit the Gospel has no power to reproduce souls to saving faith in Jesus. I encourage you to get Unction with all your soul. Only clean vessels will ever see unction. Unction makes the difference in the lives of God's people.

From Sinking Sand He Lifted Me!
In Psalms 40:1-17 we have the testimony of David. David tells us what the Lord has done for him. David was in a pit sinking down into the miry clay. The Lord came and lifted him up. God put his feet on a solid rock. The Lord put a new song in his mouth. David is so happy he begins to sing a song of praise for his rescuer.
When we look a little closer we see the man in the pit is a lost soul, sinking down into hell. The strong man who pulled him out is the Lord God Almighty. Now the man is on the Rock of Ages. When we call upon the Lord there are four things we receive: Healing from our spiritual sickness, Help with our every need, Hope that is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness, and Heaven.
Come to Jesus today. Ask forgiveness of your sin. Invite Jesus into your heart! Jesus Saves!

Wait on the Lord!
God will train and teach you in waiting time. I want to encourage you with some principles about waiting time.
1. Waiting brings you truth!
2. You will never see the Hand of God if you keep trusting the hand of man in your life.
3. Waiting is a weapon Satan dreads for you to ever discover! (Lam. 3:25)
4. Waiting provides God time to interrupt any attack on your life by your enemies.
5. God will replace every financial disaster with a financial miracle. (Isaiah 55:13)
6. Refuse to give anyone access to yourself who is not in agreement with the Word of God. Always remember when Satan wants to destroy you, He sends a person in your life, and when God wants to bless you, He will send a person in your life.
7. Never consider quitting. "Hell fears a fighter!" (James1:12)
I can say unto you brothers and sisters, my greatest blessings have come after my longest waiting.
(Isaiah 40:31)" But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

Times Are Changing
God has a plan for our lives. He knows our every need. We may be shaken at times but God is never shaken. There is strife through out the world. All this is leading toward the Battle of Armageddon. No one can stop the coming of this great battle. Today China is calling for a global currency and the rest of the world will most likely follow. There is a spiritual conflict in the nation. The battle between moral absolutes and subjective relativism. We are losing the war in these areas. The church must turn back to God for answers! We must teach and preach the old time religion. Prayer closets must be used again. Get ready for the battles of our lives as we grow older. We must fight the fight. See you at church.

God's Faithfulness!
We are being blessed in an awesome way at SFBC. I stand amazed at what the Lord is doing in our church. He said, He would fill the house when He is lifted up and He is doing just that. People from all over Florence county are walking through the doors to be minister to. We are honored to have such good Christian teachers and leaders in our fellowship. We set high standards for our leadership. We are seeing a great number of mature Christians growing up in our midst. I just want to thank the Lord for His promises. He keeps His promises when He makes them. It's a blessing to see people come and be accepted. People need someone to love them and that's what we are doing at SFBC.
We have 21 souls to baptize tomorrow evening. My grandson will be one of those precious souls. Caleb, papa is so proud of you. My older grandson will be baptized in Boiling Springs, SC in a few weeks. His name is Landen. It's a blessing to see your children's children saved and baptized. Thank you Lord.
I'm so proud of our church. You leaders are awesome and God's love shines through you. Keep the good work up! Follow your dreams! Believe God for great things. See you tomorrow in Sunday school.

Carolina Faith Riders
Jeffery called me today from the beach. He's working with Carolina Faith Rider's during Bike Week. He is working the booth and sharing the gospel with bikers. As of this morning at 10:00 a.m. 36 bikers had given their hearts to Jesus. They got saved! This is what you call Kingdom Work! This is an outreach from SFBC that is doing God's work in a great way. Jeffery was so excited about the people who got saved. SFBC can be proud of their part in winning lost souls to the Kingdom of God. Just a few years ago Jeffery introduce Carolina Faith Riders to our church and the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Its working and winning souls for Christ. We now have about 40 chapters in South Carolina. Churches are choosing to reach out with the gospel in different ways than ever before. Keep praying for more fruit during this bike week.

Mother's Day 2009
I just want to thank all the men who worked so hard yesterday for a good meal. You were so awesome in your service for the Lord. The Mothers were so blessed by your love and care. The fellowship committee was outstanding in their service for the Lord. Everything just fell in place! We had 286 in the Sunday school hour. The worship service was flowing with many people. It was good to see so many parents coming to church with their children. I enjoyed meeting your parents during the dinner hour. Didn't you just love the BBQ chicken. The new fellowship hall held all who came and was full. The new kitchen was in full swing as they prepared the meal. Thank you Lord for all your blessings.
Dori Allen was voted "Mother of Year" by the children and youth. She was honored to be chosen. She is my daughter in law and we love her very much. She is a good mother and encourages her husband to be the best he can. The "Oldest Mother" was Mrs. Mag Bailey at 85 years old. The "Youngest Mother" was Jessica Floyd. The church presented them with gifts. It was a good day.
The best part was one more soul got saved. That makes 20 for the week. God is so good. See you Sunday!

SFBC Revival Results
What a wonderful and loving Savior Jesus our Lord is to those who trust Him! SFBC has been praying for months concerning our revival with Evangelist Rick Coram. God sent us a Holy man of God to preach to us the Word. The Holy Spirit was working in such a loving compassionate way this week in the revival services. The singing was awesome at each service. People flooded the altar during the song service! Evangelist Rick Coram would stand to preach and God just moved in a mighty way. As he preached the Holy Spirit moved in among God's precious people to do a work. We had a great church revival and then the last night God saved souls. 14 souls were saved last night. 4 souls were saved the first 3 services. Caleb, my grandson was saved Monday evening. Praise the Lord! By the way, my oldest grandson was saved a few weeks ago in Boiling Springs, SC. Adrian led his son to the Lord. God is so good. We had an average of 322 in the services this week. Can you believe that? Who says, people want come back on Sunday nights and during the week. When your church is on fire people will come. The people gave a record love offering this week to our Evangelist. What a church! I'm so proud of our church members and how they love the Lord. Thank you Lord for a great Revival meeting!

SFBC Kitchen Shower
The women at SFBC gave a church Kitchen shower this past Sunday. We are now in our newly renovated fellowship hall and kitchen. It was such a good time to see all the ladies excited about kitchen wares. Gifts were presented to church and some of our dear ladies were asked to open the gifts. Mrs. Joyce Wilson, Mrs. Chris Hyler, Mrs. Miriam Cox and Mrs. Nancy Allen had the honor to open presents. Women of all ages came to celebrate this awesome shower. Some of the items that we received are: hand towels, utensils, measuring cups, spoons, carving boards, and much more. It's awesome when a church family comes together and works in unity. Thank you ladies for such a great idea. Without you, we wouldn't know what to do around the church.
