Sunday is a special day in our church. The church family is giving Nancy and I an appreciation day. We are celebrating 20 years of service and ministry. It has been a wonderful journey of Faith. God has blessed us with many precious souls during these years. When we go soul winning souls will be saved. The highlights of these twenty years has been the souls God has saved. Because of these precious souls God saved, we have grown in numbers and tithes. We have had several projects God honored and allowed us to complete. Thank you Jesus!

See you Sunday!

Celebrating Twenty Years!

I begin therapy Wednesday. I'm hoping this will make my back stronger. This has been a surgery that has set me back a few weeks. I'm trusting God to heal me and get me back to doing the work I need to do. I long to preach again, visit, soul win, counsel people, minister to the sick, help the needed and just hang out with my church family.

Nancy and I have enjoy these 20 years at SFBC. Sunday is going to be an exciting day for us and our church family. A preacher and wife can only do what the church family allows them to do. Through the years we have earned respect and honor from the church family God has blessed us with. We love our church and desire God's continued blessings. Come join us as we celebrate 20 years of ministry.

See you Sunday! Rejoice!

My Preacher Boys!

Blake Godbold preached a sermon Sunday evening at South Florence Baptist Church on tithing. He did an outstanding job sharing insights on scripture concerning giving our tithes and offerings. He is growing and maturing in his call to the gospel ministry each week. I thank God for his boldness and convictions as a young preacher boy. Blake is becoming a soul winner as he goes to outreach each Monday evening. God has blessed our church family through Blake and his family.

Charles Trantham is also one of my preacher boys. He also is a maturing Christian young man. He preaches with much clarity and compassion. He also fills in when I'm out of the pulpit. Charles has a loving spirit and gentle spirit that appeals to people. He is real in his approach to the ministry. What a blessing to have these men in the midst of our church.

Randy Butler is also one of my preacher boys. He has been filling in while I've been out on sick leave. He has come a long way since the first time I heard him preach. Randy has a love for God's work. He is a loyal young man in love with the Savior. He puts his whole heart into proclaiming the Gospel. I've been blessed by having these three men called into the ministry. They are a great help in the church field. Each one has their on talents and gifts. Thank you men for all you do for our Lord.

Jesus Saves!

The Lord is good and shows much grace toward His children. Even when we are struggling in our lives He is always there. God saves us and places us in a local church for fellowship. Through fellowship with other believers we bond together in His love. It's a good thing for us to love one another. I long to share my faith with a lost and dying world. I want to live the Christ life so the world around me will see the one that saved me. It is our responsibility to show the lost and dying world how to live. We must live the life we find in the Holy Word of God. The Bible is our guide to this new life. Living for Jesus is living out the written Word of God. We are to forgive those who have hurt us and love those we encounter each day in Jesus. I was once lost in sin and lived a life of sin. There was a day Jesus spoke to my heart and convicted me of sin. I asked the Lord to forgive me and save me from my sin. He washed my sins away by His precious blood! I'm saved praise God! I've been saved 42 years. My life is still changing from day to day. I'm not the same person I was 42 years ago. Old things have passed away and I am made new in Christ Jesus. I've come to far to turn back! God called me to preach in 1977. I've given my life to the gospel ministry these last 34 years. It has been a great journey. God has blessed me with 4 wonderful churches during these years. I've spent the last 20 years at South Florence Baptist Church, Florence, SC. This has been the best years of my life serving Jesus.

My sweet wife Nancy and I have been married 42. God has blessed us with three boys and three duaghter in laws. We have nine grandchildren. Nancy is the love of my life. She is the best Christian lady I know! She loves Jesus. We were married August 24, 1969 in Lancaster, SC. What a wonderful life we have had together. Thank you Jesus.
